Born in October,1932, Mr. Ali Kaiser Hasan Morshed was educated in the University of Oxford (BA (Hon), School of Jurisprudence (1956) and the Harvard Law School (Master of Laws 1958). He was called to the Lincoln's Inn as Barrister-at-Law in 1966. He joined the Pakistan Foreign Service in 1957 and served in various capacities in Pakistan Missions in Brussels, Belgrade, Tokyo and Canberra. He was Acting High Commissioner for Bangladesh in Canberra in 1971-72. From July 1972 to October 1976, he was a director general in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Subsequently he served as Bangladesh Ambassador to Brazil from October 1976 to May 1979 and then as Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany from May 1979 to July 1982. He was Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to the European Office of the UN, Geneva from 1982-84, Additional Foreign Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 1984-86 and then Ambassador to the German Democratic Republic from 1986-88. Mr. A K H Morshed became the Foreign Secretary in 1989 and proceeded on retirement in the same year. After retirement, he joined the Bangladesh Institute of Strategic Studies (BIIS) as Chairman and held the Chairmanship till 1997. He joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhaka as Legal Counsel in 1998 and continued till 2006.
