Mr. Mufleh R Osmany

Mr. Mufleh R Osmany was the Foreign Secretary of Bangladesh from December 1993 to February 1995. Before joining as Foreign Secretary, he was Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to the European Office of the United Nations from 1991-1993, Ambassador of Bangladesh to Iraq from 1986-91, Ambassador of Bangladesh to German Democratic Republic 1984-86, Principal, Foreign Affairs Training Institute, Dhaka, 1983-84. Born in 1940 in Sylhet, Mr. Osmany graduated in Civil Engineering from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. He joined the civil service in 1964 and served in various executive posts of the government until 1975. From 1975-78 he was Counsellor in the Bangladesh High Commission in London. He also served as Chairman of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation from 1982-83, Director General and Chief of Protocol from 1979-82.
