The Government has decided to appoint Md. Nazmul Islam, as the next Ambassador of Bangladesh to Sweden.

Md. Nazmul Islam, a career diplomat of 15th BCS (Foreign Affairs), joined Foreign Service in 1995. Currently he is serving as Director General (Administration, GS & ICT) in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In his distinguished diplomatic career, he served as the Consul General in Jeddah and Counsellor in Beijing. He also served in Bangladesh Missions in Jakarta and London in different capacities.

The Government has decided to appoint Md. Golam Sarwar, as the next Ambassador of Bangladesh to Sultanate of Oman.

Md. Golam Sarwar, a career diplomat of 10th BCS (Foreign Affairs), joined Foreign Service in 1991. Currently he is serving as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Bangladesh to Sweden. In his distinguished diplomatic career, he served as the Consul General in Jeddah and Minister in Washington DC. He also served in Bangladesh Missions in Kathmandu, Kuala Lumpur, Yangon in different capacities.

Outgoing Afghan Ambassador calls on Foreign Minister

Ambassador of Afghanistan to Bangladesh, Abdul Rahim Oraz paid a farewell call on the Foreign Minister of Bangladesh, Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali, MP at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhaka this morning.

The Ambassador expressed his gratitude for the support he received from the Foreign Minister and from the Government of Bangladesh during his tenure.

President Sirisena thanks Bangladesh, calls for deeper cooperation on climate change and disaster management

President Maithripala Sirisena expressed his sincere gratitude to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for Bangladesh’s generous cash assistance to the flood-affected people of Sri Lanka as Bangladesh High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Amb. Riaz Hamidullah handed over a cheque of USD 500,000 to the Sri Lankan President today.
